Adult:

Oral: 15 to 20 g as a single dose; repeat in 15 minutes if continued hypoglycemia

Pediatric:

Oral: 0.3 g/kg as a single dose, maximum dose: 15 to 20 g/dose, repeat in 15 minutes if continued hypoglycemia

  • Altered mental status: In patients with impaired consciousness, oral glucose administration may increase the risk of aspiration
